STAGE FLASH

Date:06/10/2019
Section:4
Special Stage:SS21 Alwen 2 (10.41 km)
Road Conditions:Good

4. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Citroen C3 WRC
It's very slippery on the line.

7. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Ola Floene (NOR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
I don't know if I had the right tyre choice on this stage but it's nice to drive.

33. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
Properly, properly slippery in here. Really difficult, we'll see.

89. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
I missed a hairpin right, I couldn't get the car turned, I had to try, I gave it everything. We'll have to keep pushing. At this speed it's easy to make a mistake, I can't do more than that.

5. Kris Meeke (GBR) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Toyota Yaris WRC
Very polished especially on the braking. You have to get your line and try to keep away from the polished stuff but sometimes there isn't any room. It's OK

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Citroen C3 WRC
I give everything one more time, I have to go for it.

11. Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
Everyone knows the stages quite well and there's no way to take time. It's quite slippy and we're all spinning the wheels. There's no difference we can really make.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
It's a bit more inconsistant. In some places it's raining and in other's it's more polished. We continue the same rhythm, it's been the same all weekend so we keep going.

21. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
There are quite slippy places now with the rain and it was changing the grip. Was quite interesting.

24. Jan Kopecky (CZE) / Pavel Dresler (CZE) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
It's much more slippy now because it's polished. We are trying to enjoy.

23. Gus Greensmith (GBR) / Elliott Edmondson (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
Slippy as hell. As soon as it starts it becomes polished and we had a huge rain shower before the start of the stage. That was pretty slippy but fun though.

25. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / John Kennard (NZL) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
Certainly more slippy, greasy and shiny but the car's nice and easy to drive so it's making a big difference.

22. Mads Ostberg (NOR) / Torstein Eriksen (NOR) - Citroen C3 R5
Conditions have been actually very nice. I've not done the whole rally so what I've done has been absolutely amazing. I love these roads and I love these conditions and I am sad that I have not been able to do the whole rally.

55. Petter Solberg (NOR) / Phil Mills (GBR) - Volkswagen Polo R5
Ohhh! Full rain in the stage, I mean, unbelievable! I came off the line and I was sliding all over the place. But I'm glad I'm here and.... ohhhh! It's quite stressful at the end of the rally like this and it's looking good. Let's hope Loubet is doing much better.

91. Nikolay Gryazin (RUS) / Yaroslav Fedorov (RUS) - Skoda Fabia R5
Difficult bad. Nice stage and looking forward for the last one.

94. Tom Cave (GBR) / Dale Furniss (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
We were on the right tyres so the rain is no problem.

43. Pierre-Louis Loubet (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was difficult to try to manage and not do any mistakes.

92. Takamoto Katsuta (JPN) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
Started to rain and it was more slippery than this morning. Everything's fine, just once I overshot one junction but otherwise ok. Just trying to get finished.

53. Adrien Fourmaux (FRA) / Renaud Jamoul (BEL) - Ford Fiesta R5
There is a lot of grip because the rain cleaned the stones but there are big rocks moved into the line. I thought I had a puncture but think it's ok now.

49. Marco Bulacia (BOL) / Fabian Cretu (ARG) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was raining very hard so it was hard. A little bit of confusion with the wipers. Turn it off... turn it on...

72. Jan Solans (ESP) / Mauro Barreiro (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R2
One to go. Everything looks fine for the moment. Let's try to finish our work.

71. Tom Kristensson (SWE) / Henrik Appelskog (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
We're working with the car and it's going forwards so I'm happy at the moment. One stage left and we will enjoy it.

77. Sean Johnston (USA) / Alex Kihurani (USA) - Ford Fiesta R2
Some places no rain, some places wipers on full blast. It's an adventure up there. Fun stage though, looking forward to the last one.

78. Fabrizio Zaldivar (PRY) / Fernando Mussano (ARG) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was actually really fun. The rain made the stage a little bit more fun so it's good to drive in.

76. Enrico Oldrati (ITA) / Elia De Guio (ITA) - Ford Fiesta R2
The rain is not helping. A little bit slippery compared to this morning. But it's ok, now we are just going to finish and keep the P4 and see for our next rally.

80. Ryan Booth (USA) / Rhianon Gelsomino (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was good, it was slick, we actually went three seconds quicker than the first time so at least that's good, it's telling me I'm making some improvements. Rally GB's been a kick in the butt, but coming back next year for sure. I will if I can!

81. Keanna Erickson-Chang (USA) / Niall Burns (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
Little bit more slippy this time but a lot of fun. I have enjoyed Rally BG, hopefully coming back next year.

75. Tom Williams (GBR) / Phil Hall (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
I've got no power steering. My arm is killing me. Our intercom cut out at the same time. Oh my arms! Enjoyed this morning but these tyres with no power steering is hard work.

73. Dennis Rädström (SWE) / Johan Johansson (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
Good stage, good fun.

74. Roland Poom (EST) / Ken Jarveoja (EST) - Ford Fiesta R2
It's a little bit more difficult than in the morning. Slippy breaking points but ok. Stage looks quite good. Next one will be a nice one, we'll take it easier to finish the rally.

47. Fabio Andolfi (ITA) / Simone Scattolin (ITA) - Skoda Fabia R5
Now is better than this morning, I have changed the tyres. Good feeling.

46. Alberto Heller (CHL) / Jose Diaz (ARG) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
The same target, middle of the road, finish the race. Next year we want to come back and find something more.

41. Benito Guerra (MEX) / Jaime Zapata (MEX) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
We improved but the stage is worse, it's very tricky and now there's one more stage to finish the rally. There difference with Heller was more than 20 seconds before the stage. I want to see the times to see if he made any mistake.

51. Rhys Yates (GBR) / James Morgan (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Downpour before made it a bit slippy. We tried to have a bit of a push through there and the second junction we smashed into the bales and stalled it and we had to reverse back and go again so we lost a bit of time.

56. Guillaume De Mevius (BEL) / Martijn Wydaeghe (BEL) - Citroen C3 R5
I heard that it was very slippery but it was OK for me so good stage.

44. Ole Christian Veiby (NOR) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Volkswagen Polo R5
We did some adjustments on the service to see if we could improve it. My driving was good on this one and the settings change helped a bit.

45. Kajetan Kajetanowicz (POL) / Maciej Szczepaniak (POL) - Volkswagen Polo R5
We have medium tyres and it was a bad choice.

93. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Mark Glennerster (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Very rough in places. Enjoyed it though. The set up is better. Another few miles to see if the changes we have done have made an effect.

54. Oliver Solberg (NOR) / Aaron Johnston (GBR) - Volkswagen Polo R5
We went off and we got back again. Halfway.

50. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
In the second pass we came a little bit more trusting of the pace notes. In one curve, we almost rolled [laughs]. But just almost. We are here, just one more stage and we have completed our sixth GB rally. For a Brazilian man this is a complete dream. I think you have a big chance to see me here next year!

102. Josh Cornwell (GBR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
The conditions are rough and the car's getting a bit tired. There are a lot of things going wrong now. Just get through it.

97. Eamonn Boland (IRL) / MJ (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R5
It's slippy, been a shower of rain.

103. Diego Dominguez (PRY) / Rogelio Lopez (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R2
Much more difficult on the first lap but very bad because we hit a stone on the second corner.

96. Patrick Dejean (FRA) / Lionel Currat (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R5
It's very slippy but it makes you do some good slips.

100. Ruairi Bell (GBR) / Darren Garrod (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
There was a big knock, a big hole at the beginning of the stage, in the line [that damaged the wing]. The puncture was probably 2km from the end. I think I was only a second slower so shows how slow I was the first time!

104. Edward Lewis (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
The rain came down for us, so a bit slippery but not too bad.

105. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
When I did GB last year it was much drier than this so it's been challenging. I've not been in the car for a year so it's been tricky!
