STAGE FLASH

Date:05/10/2019
Section:3
Special Stage:SS15 Sweet Lamb Hafren 2 (25.65 km)
Weather:Intermittent drizzle.
Road Conditions:Polishing up, grip levels improving. A little standing water in places, much of the mud has washed off the surface.

4. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Citroen C3 WRC
It's very polished. The grip level is very low and a lot of understeer for me. The tyres don't bite and you have to wait a long time before the car starts to turn.

7. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Ola Floene (NOR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
It's completely different to this morning. The same for everyone.

33. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
I had a little bit of a scare with one really big stone on the line, I thought it maybe a puncture but it didn't bother us too much. It's pretty slippery out there.

3. Teemu Suninen (FIN) / Jarmo Lehtinen (FIN) - Ford Fiesta WRC
I just had really bad rhythm and the car is not working - we are not using it properly. We lost a lot of time.

42. Craig Breen (IRL) / Paul Nagle (IRL) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
This stage was really terrible as I had a shower in there and I had mud on the windscreen for 10km and I couldn't clear it. Then I had fog in there.

89. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
That driving was like fun - it was real fun. Elfyn is driving very well I have to say but this is his country. We try to respond but he was very quick this morning and it's hard for me to do a lot more, maybe one or two seconds

5. Kris Meeke (GBR) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Toyota Yaris WRC
It was raining quite heavily toward the end of the stage. I don't know what it's like for the others. Time's not brilliant but it was OK.

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Citroen C3 WRC
At least I can do no more. I am on the limit. It's been a good stage, I cannot do more.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
Same as we lost the championship last year in Australia. We lost the bumper and all the noise is in the car. I can't hear Martin. It was just a compression and the bumper came off. Just one more stage but I would really like to hear something.

24. Jan Kopecky (CZE) / Pavel Dresler (CZE) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
I have to say very sorry to the team as we rolled the car on the stage. I was caught by the deep ruts and it moved me too much inside and we hit the bank inside and rolled. Thanks to the team, the car is very strong and thanks to the spectators, we finished on the side and they helped us to get back on the wheels.

21. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
We needed some setup changes before the stage but didn't have time to do all of them. So the car was a bit unbalanced, but we will do them before the next stage.

25. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / John Kennard (NZL) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
Not too bad, it's slippery but it's consisent throughout the whole stage. Just trying to find some new things on the car and learning some good stuff.

43. Pierre-Louis Loubet (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was super slippery and difficult to find the grip. We try to continue to stay on the road.

91. Nikolay Gryazin (RUS) / Yaroslav Fedorov (RUS) - Skoda Fabia R5
It's getting better but not enough. There's too much sliding on the stage making it difficult.

55. Petter Solberg (NOR) / Phil Mills (GBR) - Volkswagen Polo R5
It's so slippy and with these medium tyres, it's a little bit too hard. Unbelievable conditions. We're driving our own race so we'll see how it goes but we're very happy with everything.

94. Tom Cave (GBR) / Dale Furniss (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Very bad in places, quite rough for us but we had a good run.

53. Adrien Fourmaux (FRA) / Renaud Jamoul (BEL) - Ford Fiesta R5
We have a problem with the pop-off on the car so I lost on the stage, it was quite difficult. It was the same on the end of the loop, before. We didn't have to change our tyre choice. But I enjoy it, really nice stage.

44. Ole Christian Veiby (NOR) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Volkswagen Polo R5
A bit optimistic on the tyre choice, I had no support in the tyres in the second half of the stage. I did my best, I pushed as well, but not possible to set a good time. It was a bit hard to know when to use the wipers.

93. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Mark Glennerster (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
It wasn't too bad. It's slippy but that's Rally GB. I enjoyed it, right tyres as well this time, able to push it and keep it on line.

49. Marco Bulacia (BOL) / Fabian Cretu (ARG) - Skoda Fabia R5
We are having problems with the understeering. We tried to fix it but we don't have service today.

92. Takamoto Katsuta (JPN) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
More slippery, more tricky.

46. Alberto Heller (CHL) / Jose Diaz (ARG) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
OK, this one was not so good for us. I lose a few seconds but it was OK. It was amazing the stage and I'm glad to finish these two passes of Sweet Lamb.

47. Fabio Andolfi (ITA) / Simone Scattolin (ITA) - Skoda Fabia R5
In this stage I lost about 10 seconds because I spun. In the middle of the stage.

41. Benito Guerra (MEX) / Jaime Zapata (MEX) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
It was better, we beat Andolfi and Petter this stage. We're trying to understand the suspension, the dampers, I've been struggling all weekend with them but we're learning.

51. Rhys Yates (GBR) / James Morgan (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
We're struggling, having another struggling day. We had to limp it through there as well so we'll have to see after this one but maybe we'll be heading back. Not great.

72. Jan Solans (ESP) / Mauro Barreiro (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R2
We're pushing just a little bit. I know how I have to drive to get going so just my own drive. Not pushing.

71. Tom Kristensson (SWE) / Henrik Appelskog (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
No issues, we are here and it's good.

56. Guillaume De Mevius (BEL) / Martijn Wydaeghe (BEL) - Citroen C3 R5
It was very slippery but yea. We didn't do a good time. I thought I was a bit better than this morning but not good. The rain is behind us.

73. Dennis Rädström (SWE) / Johan Johansson (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
Incredibly good stage now we've found the rhythm, actually. We push hard when we push and clean slow corners.

74. Roland Poom (EST) / Ken Jarveoja (EST) - Ford Fiesta R2
Our car doesn't have power. I don't know why.

50. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
Fantastic, pleasurable, this is the best special stage in the World! Oh my God! It was very, very slippery now but this is so much fun. You put the car sliding. Oh! For me this special stage is enough to come to Wales Rally GB. I'm really, really, really happy. Such fun.

77. Sean Johnston (USA) / Alex Kihurani (USA) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was great, I feel we had a better rhythm that pass.

97. Eamonn Boland (IRL) / MJ (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R5
We stopped to change a puncture and then caught up with the car that spun.

78. Fabrizio Zaldivar (PRY) / Fernando Mussano (ARG) - Ford Fiesta R2
A bit slippier and very tricky in some places but still fun to drive.

102. Josh Cornwell (GBR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
Getting slippy and there's a lot of big ruts and big rocks dragged into the road. We beat our time from the first run so we're happy.

76. Enrico Oldrati (ITA) / Elia De Guio (ITA) - Ford Fiesta R2
We got a puncture and lost our position.

80. Ryan Booth (USA) / Rhianon Gelsomino (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was a little wetter this time around, it was due to rain right before we took off so it was a little slick that time.

103. Diego Dominguez (PRY) / Rogelio Lopez (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R2
A little bit better, we started off pretty strong we were down, I think, 6 / 7 in our first and then we took it a little bit slower in the middle then decided to push.

104. Edward Lewis (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Struggling a little bit just for grip, can't really - it's washing out everywhere. There's not really anthing we can do without taking big risks.

105. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was OK, we had the R5 behind. We passed them on the stage as they obviously have had a problem but then they were behind and didn't know if they needed to get by or not. We had a bit of a spin as well but it's alright.

81. Keanna Erickson-Chang (USA) / Niall Burns (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
A lot better that time around. Notes were improved and just a little bit more confidence there.
