STAGE FLASH

Date:05/10/2019
Section:3
Special Stage:SS13 Sweet Lamb Hafren 1 (25.65 km)
Weather:Low cloud, possible fog in the stage with light mist in the air.

4. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Citroen C3 WRC
The grip is much better on this stage but still some muddy places, a few of them at least and two surprises as well. A nice stage, really nice stage. I didn't expect some places to be so slippy but I left some margin on braking.

7. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Ola Floene (NOR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
I maybe hit the car on the bank at high speed but inside the car it was not so dramatic. The car is very good, I'm really enjoying the drive.

33. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
The previous two were really good but I didn't have quite as good a run to be honest, the grip was very low. We'll see how it goes.

3. Teemu Suninen (FIN) / Jarmo Lehtinen (FIN) - Ford Fiesta WRC
At the beginning it just went out on really slippy braking. I just couldn't keep the car on the stage and we got a puncture.

42. Craig Breen (IRL) / Paul Nagle (IRL) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
Mechanically it's not so bad but I just can't see out of the cracked windsceen and I can't clean the window all of the time. It's really frustrating.

89. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
I was really pushing on the maximum. I have nothing more to give. OK in places I could go faster but it's hard to push more.

11. Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
I tried hard but I made a small mistake in Sweet Lamb - in this area. So I a lost a few seconds there. I'm still trying.

5. Kris Meeke (GBR) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Toyota Yaris WRC
Just a fraction away this morning and slipping away but OK, we have to continue to do the job. The stages are different and the car feels a biit different today, a bit lazy or stiff or something. There isn't a service today so we'll keep it here.

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Citroen C3 WRC
We try, we had a big moment in the middle of the stage when I didn't understand a note from Julien. We hit a bank. We had a big impact on the front left and I thought we had broken a damper. The car is OK but but it was a very strange impact.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
It's tight. I must say it's slippy and I'm pushing quite hard. It's not easy but we're trying out best. Flat out.

24. Jan Kopecky (CZE) / Pavel Dresler (CZE) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
This one was OK. On the previous one there was a huge rock in the line which we hit and got a puncture.

21. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
It was quite interesting to drive for the first time with the pace notes. it was not so easy in places. There is no competition for me so I just drive the stages.

25. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / John Kennard (NZL) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
It was probably the most enjoyable stage of the loop. The road conditions and grip are probably better than what I've seen for many many years.I'm not driving the car as I want to but working on it step by step.

43. Pierre-louis Loubet (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was OK, we were acting too carefully earlier but we had a puncture.

91. Nikolay Gryazin (RUS) / Yaroslav Fedorov (RUS) - Skoda Fabia R5
Difficult. Still learning.

55. Petter Solberg (NOR) / Phil Mills (GBR) - Volkswagen Polo R5
Unbelievable, it's very good. I'm not driving perfectly but it's so difficult to listen to the pacenotes. I feel that the time is very good, maybe there's a comeback, yes.

94. Tom Cave (GBR) / Dale Furniss (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Happy with the car, it's working well. Times are close. We had a good run.

53. Adrien Fourmaux (FRA) / Renaud Jamoul (BEL) - Ford Fiesta R5
We spun in the hairpin so we ha dto reverse. I think we lost maybe 10 seconds, it was really long. A difficult morning for us. We don't feel the grip, maybe the tyres are too soft. We have to check for the second loop but this morning we lost a lot of time.

44. Ole Christian Veiby (NOR) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Volkswagen Polo R5
It's been OK, struggling a bit to find the braking points. The car is working OK, we just keep on going in the next loop.

93. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Mark Glennerster (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Alright! We're just in between tyres and setup a bit. It's great to drive, it's just the loose nut behind the wheel that needs to get in line now! Enjoyed that one.

49. Marco Bulacia (BOL) / Fabian Cretu (ARG) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was good. I think that the times are good so let's try to keep it like that.

92. Takamoto Katsuta (JPN) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
It's a bit easier than yesterday but stages are quite fast, with some tricky bits so not easy. But enjoying.

46. Alberto Heller (CHL) / Jose Diaz (ARG) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
Difficult for the first time here. But we enjoy! We can improve a lot but really happy to be here.

47. Fabio Andolfi (ITA) / Simone Scattolin (ITA) - Skoda Fabia R5
This morning isn't easy and the stages are slippery but stage after stage I am learning.

41. Benito Guerra (MEX) / Jaime Zapata (MEX) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
The times are not good. We're trying to push but I'm sliding too much in the corners. I feel like I am going fast but the times are not there. We are trying to fight with Andolfi and Heller, three seconds to Heller here, fourteen to Andolfi. I don't understand. Something I am doing really wrong. We'll try to fix something in the car to help us go straighter.

51. Rhys Yates (GBR) / James Morgan (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Good fun. That was the definitely the best stage we've had. I was looking out the side windows the whole way through. I said to James even if it;s not that quick, it were mega fun. Really enjoyed that one.

45. Kajetan Kajetanowicz (POL) / Maciej Szczepaniak (POL) - Volkswagen Polo R5
Fine. My first time here, it's not easy.

72. Jan Solans (ESP) / Mauro Barreiro (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R2
It looks quite good.

71. Tom Kristensson (SWE) / Henrik Appelskog (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
I don't think we can fight with the puncture.

56. Guillaume De Mevius (BEL) / Martijn Wydaeghe (BEL) - Citroen C3 R5
It's OK but we are more careful now as we want to finish the rally and learn a lot so we just drive and try the notes and have a lot of fun!

73. Dennis Rädström (SWE) / Johan Johansson (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
Magic! So many specators in there! We had a full speed spin toward the end so I think we had a good time going in there.

74. Roland Poom (EST) / Ken Jarveoja (EST) - Ford Fiesta R2
Maybe too big cuts but no damage to the car. I enjoy it, this one was really slippery. It's good, we're doing our own thing.

50. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
For me, Sweet Lamb is very special. I think it is the special stage I like the most, not just in Wales but in the whole WRC. I feel at home when I do Sweet Lamb. I really, really like this special stage. For me when I was President of Palmeiras, I was not rallying. I would like one day to return to make Sweet Lamb again at least one more time. Already I make it two times last year and this year and this makes me so happy!

77. Sean Johnston (USA) / Alex Kihurani (USA) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was good, a clean run, taking no risks. You are sort of in no mans land now with sadly Tom Williams going out on the first stage this morning. We've got a big gap to the guys in front and behind. We're learning the stages and conditions, it's all new for me, I've never driven on this kind of surface and it's really tricky. A smooth comfortable pace and we're enjoying it.

97. Eamonn Boland (IRL) / MJ (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R5
That one was very smooth, it's not rough, it's perfect.

78. Fabrizio Zaldivar (PRY) / Fernando Mussano (ARG) - Ford Fiesta R2
Not that good, the beginning was tricky with no pace. From the middle to the end I was a little bit better, we were getting more speed and having fun.

102. Josh Cornwell (GBR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
That was great fun, we've changed our tyre choice after the last stage, we enjoyed it.

76. Enrico Oldrati (ITA) / Elia De Guio (ITA) - Ford Fiesta R2
Not bad, now I'm getting more feeling with the car on this surface. I'm feeling great so let's see on the second loop.

80. Ryan Booth (USA) / Rhianon Gelsomino (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R2
We're just dealing with some issues with the car. Trying to figure it out and just trying to figure the roads out. We'll see how it goes. It's pretty slick in there. We had some really bad understeer which is not confidence inspiring but we'll try to figure it out.

103. Diego Dominguez (PRY) / Rogelio Lopez (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R2
Very bad, I wasn't feeling the car and I took it slowly.

104. Edward Lewis (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Start was ok but I think I got a puncture towards the end there

105. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
A bit better, we had a puncture in the last two stages so we've got no spares now and had to take it a little bit easy. But it was a good stage, it was fun.

81. Keanna Erickson-Chang (USA) / Niall Burns (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
Enjoyable stage, just having a troublesome day and trying to keep going.

101. Philippe Casado (FRA) / Kevin Bronner (FRA) - Peugeot 208 R2
It's OK.
