STAGE FLASH

Date:05/10/2019
Section:3
Special Stage:SS11 Dyfi 1 (25.86 km)
Weather:Dry
Road Conditions:Wet and muddy

4. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Citroen C3 WRC
I was expecting to have good grip but it's quite far away from that to be honest. It was hard to find any rhythm as the grip is really low. I'm surprised to be honest.

7. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Ola Floene (NOR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
It was good to have some sleep last night and time to think about my driving. I've made a small change to the car. That was just fantastic I really enjoyed it.

33. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
Have to focus stage by stage and do the best we can with each one. It all looks the same this morning but still quite changeable.

3. Teemu Suninen (FIN) / Jarmo Lehtinen (FIN) - Ford Fiesta WRC
The driver's the problem.

42. Craig Breen (IRL) / Paul Nagle (IRL) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
Quite reasonable. I thought I would lose a lot more but OK, we have to be reasonably happy with that. The road will polish a bit. It's hard to stick your neck out 100% when you get so little time in the car but quite happy.

89. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
Everything was working fine, the car was working well. There was more grip than I expected, you can really push in here.

11. Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC
I struggled at the beginning, I was too careful at the start of the stage, I tried to get the feeling. It was a long day yesterday, short night, I should have done better.

5. Kris Meeke (GBR) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Toyota Yaris WRC
I didn't explore the grip enough, there was more grip than I expercted. You get it from the first corner and go or you hesitate a bit. But OK. We have to try everything, Thierry is driving a Hyundai and we have to get in front. We have some work to do.

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Citroen C3 WRC
We have to try. The conditions are good. I was not as sharp as I would like but not a bad stage. I have to try harder.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
The grip was OK, I couldn't go to the limit but the car feels good.

24. Jan Kopecky (CZE) / Pavel Dresler (CZE) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
We have to stay on the road and bring this car to the finish. I know you can go very fast on these stages but on this one I have no experience so it's good to keep the pace down and get to the finish.

21. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
Quite a nice stage, in this situaton I drive without risk but I also drive to enjoy it. I think it went quite well.

23. Gus Greensmith (GBR) / Elliott Edmondson (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
[Broken rear right damper at the end of the stage]

25. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / John Kennard (NZL) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
Nice and smooth and easy, trying to ease our way back into it. No problems.

43. Pierre-louis Loubet (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
We had a puncture, an unexpected one. Unlucky.

91. Nikolay Gryazin (RUS) / Yaroslav Fedorov (RUS) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was OK, we're struggling with the setup, trying to do my job but it's very slippery. We think the tyre choice is OK but it's difficult to push, and we lost a lot of time.

94. Tom Cave (GBR) / Dale Furniss (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Looks good. Feels ok in the car, car feels a bit down on power. Not sure it it's because we're full of fuel and have a few spares. We'll look into it before the next one.

93. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Mark Glennerster (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
Really enjoyed it, not totally committed but enjoying moving the car round. A touch off on the time maybe, but ok.

54. Oliver Solberg (NOR) / Aaron Johnston (GBR) - Volkswagen Polo R5
We had one moment in there, a bank there that straightened us up a little bit. It was nothing bad, just typical.

92. Takamoto Katsuta (JPN) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5 Mkii
It's quite a difficult stage but I'm quite happy

41. Benito Guerra (MEX) / Jaime Zapata (MEX) - Skoda Fabia R5 Evo
The first stage of the morning is always difficult for me. We lost ten seconds on Andolfi and we are two seonds faster than Petter so we will try to catch these guys.

51. Rhys Yates (GBR) / James Morgan (GBR) - Hyundai NG i20 R5
We've still got a few niggling issues with the car so it's all good but we'll sort it out with this next one and then get going.

45. Kajetan Kajetanowicz (POL) / Maciej Szczepaniak (POL) - Volkswagen Polo R5
What can I say? No drama. I try to have fun, to drive with a smile on my face and that's it. OK, the time is really good. It's a long day for us.

71. Tom Kristensson (SWE) / Henrik Appelskog (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
It feels really good, now I have the rhythm and today's really enjoyable stages so we'll have a lot of fun.

56. Guillaume De Mevius (BEL) / Martijn Wydaeghe (BEL) - Citroen C3 R5
Very, very fast so we have to be confident and we weren't too confident so need to be careful.

73. Dennis Rädström (SWE) / Johan Johansson (SWE) - Ford Fiesta R2
Nice to get going again. I don't know if we have a small issue with the traction, from yesterday, but we did our best. Very fun.

50. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
Very, very slippery and quite fast so I should ay attention as it was the first pass. I was not 100% sure about the pace notes as here, it's just one mistake that will finish the rally. Today is one day that we don't have service so we prefer to make it safe.

77. Sean Johnston (USA) / Alex Kihurani (USA) - Ford Fiesta R2
We were too conservative and made some mistakes. I had a mis-note at the end there which gave us a pretty spicey moment. Not super happy with that but we'll see how the guys behind us are doing. The guys are flying as they are fighting for the championship. We'll see if that was good enough, I don't think it was but we have a whole day.

96. Patrick Dejean (FRA) / Lionel Currat (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R5
It was a fabulous stage. Everything was sideways, I'm very happy. Very good.

100. Ruairi Bell (GBR) / Darren Garrod (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
It's tough. Working the brakes hard in there, not what we wanted to do but it is what it is. Let's go to the next one.

102. Josh Cornwell (GBR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
I enjoyed that one. We came out of a tight corner and hit something on the side, I think the exhaust has come off or something.

76. Enrico Oldrati (ITA) / Elia De Guio (ITA) - Ford Fiesta R2
For a first loop it's ok, I drive safe because I saw another car like mine crashed so I just drive safe.

80. Ryan Booth (USA) / Rhianon Gelsomino (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R2
Just trying to figure it out, it's tough and slick.

104. Edward Lewis (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
We're probably a bit too cautious in there.

105. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Very happy now that we're able to drive, so frustrating but yes that was nice.

81. Keanna Erickson-Chang (USA) / Niall Burns (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
That downhill bit in the middle is quite tricky and slippery, just getting back into it today.

101. Philippe Casado (FRA) / Kevin Bronner (FRA) - Peugeot 208 R2
It's a good stage. It's a big stage.
