STAGE FLASH

Date:05/10/2018
Section:2
Special Stage:SS4 Penmachno 1 (16.95 km)
Weather:No rain at the moment
Road Conditions:Wet and slippy

5. Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
The feeling was a little bit better but a very difficult stage. The car was working a bit better but not as it should be.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
It was hard. So many grip changes and loose mud in places. When you are aquaplaning you don't enjoy it so much. When it's consistant it's nice but when it's no under your control it's a different type of fun.

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Ford Fiesta WRC
We have a gearbox problem. We have no first or second gear.

9. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
It's very slippy in places. A lot of grip changes but this is Wales Rally GB. A lot of suprises in the end. This one was a bit better but it's really tough, I don't understand Otts speed. Even now I take some risks already and we lose quite a lot. He's impressive.

7. Jari-Matti Latvala (FIN) / Miikka Anttila (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
This stage was a lot better than the first two here. The car is working well but still I have understeer so hopefully we can sort it out. I don't really understand as we didn't have it on the test but hopefully we can work it out with the engineers.

4. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
I can't get any feeling with the car, the grip is changing quickly. It's hard to push when it's like this. I'm doing the best I can but its hard.

3. Teemu Suninen (FIN) / Mikko Markkula (FIN) - Ford Fiesta WRC
It was an OK stage. Quite muddy, I'm not sure if it's getting more slippery but for me it was slippy.

2. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
Difficult to be honest. Changeable grip, I was careful in there but there were a few places I was on the edge as well.

6. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
Its a lot muddier this stage. Sometimes the grip is OK but its hard to read. There's a little bit of fog towards the end but I loved it. I felt like I was driving even faster in it.

10. Mads Ostberg (NOR) / Torstein Eriksen (NOR) - Citroen C3 WRC
I don't have any feeling with the car. I feel like I don't have any suspension left, maybe I had some impacts I don't know..

11. Craig Breen (IRL) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Citroen C3 WRC
I'm fairly flat to the square right. I made some adjustments to the car but I need to carry more speed.

31. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Skoda Fabia R5
A bit of a better feeling than the first two stages but still unpredictable.

32. Gus Greensmith (GBR) / Alex Gelsomino (USA) - Ford Fiesta R5
We've had a rear puncture for last 6-7 kilometers

33. Lukasz Pieniazek (POL) / Przemyslaw Mazur (POL) - Skoda Fabia R5
We went off, couldn't get into reverse. Sorry we held up the car behind.

34. Fabio Andolfi (ITA) / Simone Scattolin (ITA) - Skoda Fabia R5
Caught the car in front

35. Ole Christian Veiby (NOR) / Stig Rune Skjaermoen (NOR) - Skoda Fabia R5
Rear left puncture at the beginning of the stage. I thought it was the steering arm.

36. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5
Really good morning. Not good this stage, we were too cautious.

40. Stéphane Lefebvre (FRA) / Gabin Moreau (FRA) - Citroen C3 R5
Tricky, struggled with the rhythm and setup of the car in the second stage but OK in here.

43. Eric Camilli (FRA) / Benjamin Veillas (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R5
A bad morning, we've had a puncture.

38. Pierre-Louis Loubet (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA) - Hyundai i20 R5
Made a mistake and overshot a junction.

39. Nil Solans (ESP) / Marc Marti (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R5
Not very happy, we've got problems with the car so are going slow.

41. Marco Bulacia Wilkinson (BOL) / Fabian Cretu (ARG) - Skoda Fabia R5
All good

61. Taisko Lario (FIN) / Tatu Hatamalainen (FIN) - Peugeot 208 R2
Feeling good, very muddy in the stage and struggling with two wheel drive

64. Tom Williams (GBR) / Phil Hall (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Amazing stage, loved it in the rain. Really liking the stages.

63. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Not a good morning. I was sideways in Brenig. We had an Auston Pwers moment where we had to reverse about 80 times to get back on the stage.

89. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
Foggy, slippery, rainy. Really difficult rally

81. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Darren Garrod (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
Usual for here, it's misty. We're going OK.

82. David Bogie (GBR) / John Rowan (IRL) - Skoda Fabia R5
Going OK. No spare after a puncture. The rain is making it changeable.

62. Enrico Brazzoli (ITA) / Luca Beltrame (ITA) - Peugeot 208 R2
We caught a car but apart from that we're happy.

83. Rhys Yates (GBR) / Elliott Edmondson (GBR) - Skoda Fabia R5
Very hard work. Tricky and we're going to make some changes for the next stage.

84. Tom Cave (GBR) / James Morgan (GBR) - Hyundai i20 R5
Not very nice, foggy at the top and the front runners have an advantage.

85. Gaurav Gill (IND) / Glenn Macneall (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R5
Getting used to different tyres and getting used to new setups with every stage.

86. Alex Laffey (GBR) / Patrick Walsh (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
Slippy. Had to slow down to pass Ingram who was off.

91. Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (FRA) / Romain Courbon (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R2
Difficult.

92. Steve Rokland (NOR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
Good morning. Rain heavy but no issues.

93. James Williams (GBR) / Tom Woodburn (GBR) - Opel Adam R2
Tricky stage especially at the start. What an experience to start my WRC career.

95. Tony Jardine (GBR) / Tom Cary (GBR) - Mitsubishi Evolution IX GT
Navigator sick

87. Eamonn Boland (IRL) / Mj Morrissey (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R5
Slippy but had a good morning so far.

97. John Morrison (GBR) / Peter Carstairs (GBR) - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
Slid into a ditch not far from the end. Very lucky to get out.

99. Scott Partridge (GBR) / Mike Wilding (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
Very, very slippy.

100. Jordan Reynolds (GBR) / Peredur Davies (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Horrendous. Very slippy. We had a big spin and misted windscreen

101. Finlay Retson (GBR) / Tom Hynd (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Plenty of moments in there. Felt like an offroad course. More grip than the first two stages.

102. Spencer Wilkinson (GBR) / Glyn Thomas (GBR) - Subaru Impreza WRX STi
Really rough. Big rocks all over the road.

104. Alex Waterman (GBR) / Harry Thomas (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2T
OK day so far. Tricky with only one wiper. Treacherous conditions but a good challenge for both the crew.

105. Bart Lang (GBR) / Sinclair Young (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Horrendous conditions. Screen is msted up [tailgate open]

107. Nabila Tejpar (GBR) / Richard Bliss (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
Shocking conditions. Hit everything. So difficult.

106. Saleh Hijazi (GBR) / Stephen Landen (GBR) - MG ZR
No screen visibility. Really difficult.

111. Neil Andrew (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
Rough but good!

108. Jonathan Mulholland (GBR) / Jeff Case (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
Very slippy and cut up. No use for the R2.

110. Iwan Evans (GBR) / Sion Williams (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
Lost second gear on the previous stage so had to take this one easy.
