STAGE FLASH

Date:05/10/2018
Section:2
Special Stage:SS3 Brenig 1 (29.13 km)

5. Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
I did my best but I struggled with understeer. It's tricky, I hit a chicane. I have no lines and I don't know how good the grip is in places.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
Feeling is not great, the grip is changing all the time. I want to have better feeling in the car.

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Ford Fiesta WRC
It's difficult, I'm not perfectly comfortable. Ott (Tanak) had a really good time in there.

9. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
The car is working but no confidence. I cannot explain it, it's just on me. It's very slippery, I'm just too slow.

7. Jari-Matti Latvala (FIN) / Miikka Anttila (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
We had a lot of understeer on the car. Struggling alot with the front of the car. The surface is too slippy, cant get the front working but lets see what we can do.

4. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
I'm trying to push. I don't understand, it's strange. We're hitting banks in places because we are pushing, if we push anymore then we'll be sideways more.

3. Teemu Suninen (FIN) / Mikko Markkula (FIN) - Ford Fiesta WRC
It was OK stage, on the tarmac section I was too careful on the muddy section. But it's an OK time.

2. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
There was more in there for sure. The majority was pretty good but there was a puncture alarm early in the stage but I couldn't feel it. We got to the point where we had to make a decision but it was a false alarm.

6. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
I just can't get the feeling in the car. I'm not so happy on these tyres, they are soft and it's moving under braking. We went off and luckily didn't get stuck. We lost maybe five seconds there.

10. Mads Ostberg (NOR) / Torstein Eriksen (NOR) - Citroen C3 WRC
It was tricky, especially in the beginning of the stage. Struggling with understeer on the car, we had a bad feeling. Car was working better in the second half of the stage but we lost a lot on the first.

11. Craig Breen (IRL) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Citroen C3 WRC
The tarmac is covered in mud. I'm dissapointed with the time but we will keep plugging away. It's just full mud on the tarmac section.

31. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Skoda Fabia R5
I think I'm too careful at the moment. I think we are too soft in the setting's but we will see.

32. Gus Greensmith (GBR) / Alex Gelsomino (USA) - Ford Fiesta R5
It's not a good time, I made a lot of mistakes, the grip was changing a lot so I was struggling to keep it clean. Small mistakes everywhere.

33. Lukasz Pieniazek (POL) / Przemyslaw Mazur (POL) - Skoda Fabia R5
I was struggling for the first half of the stage. Then we hit a rut. No puncture but we think there is something bent.

34. Fabio Andolfi (ITA) / Simone Scattolin (ITA) - Skoda Fabia R5
I made two mistakes in there and lost a little time.

35. Ole Christian Veiby (NOR) / Stig Rune Skjaermoen (NOR) - Skoda Fabia R5
A puncture and a spin so not the best one for me.

36. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5
The time looks quiet OK, the stage was technical and really nice. I enjoyed it.

37. Jari Huttunen (FIN) / Antti Linnaketo (FIN) - Hyundai i20 R5
It was OK, we missed a junction.

40. Stéphane Lefebvre (FRA) / Gabin Moreau (FRA) - Citroen C3 R5
Disaster! Under braking I'm struggling a great deal.

43. Eric Camilli (FRA) / Benjamin Veillas (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R5
We had a puncture and lost two minutes.

38. Pierre-Louis Loubet (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA) - Hyundai i20 R5
Not too bad. We had a puncture so we lost a bit of time.

39. Nil Solans (ESP) / Marc Marti (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R5
Took that very carefully. No problems with the car.

42. Simone Tempestini (ROU) / Itu Sergiu (ROU) - Citroen C3 R5
That stage went OK for me.

44. Chris Ingram (GBR) / Ross Whittock (GBR) - Skoda Fabia R5
We had a front puncture about halfway through the stage. We didn't change it so lost some time.

41. Marco Bulacia Wilkinson (BOL) / Fabian Cretu (ARG) - Skoda Fabia R5
OK, no problems at all.

61. Taisko Lario (FIN) / Tatu Hatamalainen (FIN) - Peugeot 208 R2
We hit a big rock and after that I was really slow and careful.

64. Tom Williams (GBR) / Phil Hall (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
I was really happy with the first half, we then caught the car in front and were in a traffic jam.

63. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
We went sideways down a road and had to reverse. Lost loads of time.

62. Enrico Brazzoli (ITA) / Luca Beltrame (ITA) - Peugeot 208 R2
Good, we caught the car in front and they didn't see me. That was only a small problem.

89. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
Long, slippy, muddy - a stage for the experts.

81. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Darren Garrod (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
It's gone, it's finished. That's all that matters.

82. David Bogie (GBR) / John Rowan (IRL) - Skoda Fabia R5
Had a puncture, clipped a corner and hit a rock which we missed on the recce.

83. Rhys Yates (GBR) / Elliott Edmondson (GBR) - Skoda Fabia R5
It's really slippery. We are really struggling. It's not good.

84. Tom Cave (GBR) / James Morgan (GBR) - Hyundai i20 R5
Puncture toward the end. There was a rock on the line and nothing I could do to avoid it.

85. Gaurav Gill (IND) / Glenn Macneall (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R5
A good stage, we're on new tyres. The conditions are changing and we're trying to find out what is best.

86. Alex Laffey (GBR) / Patrick Walsh (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
Struggling to find where to push. I'm all over the place.

87. Eamonn Boland (IRL) / Mj Morrissey (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R5
No problem.

91. Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (FRA) / Romain Courbon (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R2
Good, hard to find the grip but still going. It was our first time here doing this event.

92. Steve Rokland (NOR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
Really good that one. So difficult to judge the grip. I suppose it's the same for everyone.

93. James Williams (GBR) / Tom Woodburn (GBR) - Opel Adam R2
Not very well, struggling to find grip and it's knocked my confidence. We're still here and still smiling.

95. Tony Jardine (GBR) / Tom Cary (GBR) - Mitsubishi Evolution IX GT
Fantastic stage! [The co-driver was about to throw up.]

88. Sacha Kakad (GBR) / James Aldridge (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
Great, I'm still getting used to the car but we're getting there.

97. John Morrison (GBR) / Peter Carstairs (GBR) - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
Very, very slippy.

100. Jordan Reynolds (GBR) / Peredur Davies (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Good stage, very technical. The braking points need to be spot on.

99. Scott Partridge (GBR) / Fiona Scarret (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
No grip whatsoever. I didn't really enjoy that one.

101. Finlay Retson (GBR) / Tom Hynd (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Very rough, hit a chicane and damaged the back. The steering is out.

102. Spencer Wilkinson (GBR) / Glyn Thomas (GBR) - Subaru Impreza WRX STi
Rubbish. I haven't driven the car for a year, I will get into it. Still smiling but I was rubbish!

104. Alex Waterman (GBR) / Harry Thomas (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2T
A few slippery places and our windscreen wiper broke halfway through the stage.

107. Nabila Tejpar (GBR) / Richard Bliss (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
We had a couple of mistakes in there but I'm happy.

106. Saleh Hijazi (GBR) / Stephen Landen (GBR) - Mg ZR
Had an off in the stage and lost some time. We were pushed back on the stage by some spectators.

108. Jonathan Mulholland (GBR) / Jeff Case (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
It's very cut up in there and very, very slippy.

109. Stephen Southall (GBR) / Richard Bestwick (GBR) - Ford Escort Mk2
Brilliant! Loved it! Can't wait to do it again!

111. Neil Andrew (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
Better than yesterday. The shakedown was rubbish. The car we caught up was very curteous and let us pass.

110. Iwan Evans (GBR) / Sion Williams (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
Lost second gear from virtually the start of that stage so had to drive without second.
