STAGE FLASH

Date:07/10/2018
Section:4
Special Stage:SS21 Great Orme Llandudno 1 (8.03 km)

5. Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
It is actually very enjoyable, but I lost the bite on the brakes towards the end so I had to be careful!

6. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
It was inevitable, it would be nice if we can all get infront of Mads. The pacenotes are a bit too slow.

4. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
Around a right hand corner with negative camber I just lost the grip. The car is fine.

10. Mads Ostberg (NOR) / Torstein Eriksen (NOR) - Citroen C3 WRC
I lost 1.9s to Mikkelsen. We gained 1 second.

11. Craig Breen (IRL) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Citroen C3 WRC
I made a mistake here, I thought I was over the flying finish and I wasn't. I braked and switched it off but I wasn't there.

9. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
I guess they are still hoping I will catch Seb but I think it's really not possible. The last one was a crazy time from him. We are where we wanted to be and will defend third. There is no instruction from the team but I think they would like it if I could catch him.

7. Jari-Matti Latvala (FIN) / Miikka Anttila (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
It's a pretty exciting morning. Let's see how Ogier responds on this stage. He's ahead? He's attacking.

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Ford Fiesta WRC
We can try. It's been a difficult morning. There is not much more I can do, the Toyota is really strong but we can keep trying and keep pushing Latvala until the end.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
I was full throttle.

2. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
The jump was a big surprise, horrific! Always a nice atmosphere here. The jump wasn't here when we recce'd it so it was a big surprise.

36. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5
I think it was a quite fun stage but I think it would not be fun if you have to push because of all the curbs. All OK for us.

31. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Skoda Fabia R5
We had to change one arm but now we're here. We'll be careful on this one now to get back.

32. Gus Greensmith (GBR) / Alex Gelsomino (USA) - Ford Fiesta R5
Fine, nice and clean. There's a gap behind so we have to drive cleanly and get a good result.

37. Jari Huttunen (FIN) / Antti Linnaketo (FIN) - Hyundai i20 R5
It's a bit difficult but it's quite nice, I like it.

40. Stéphane Lefebvre (FRA) / Gabin Moreau (FRA) - Citroen C3 R5
Rather tricky. We have some good ideas for the car and now we need to finish.

33. Lukasz Pieniazek (POL) / Przemyslaw Mazur (POL) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was pretty fun after a frustrating morning. Finally we enjoyed it and it looked like not a bad time. So we'll try to push more on the second pass. I could not find a good rhythm on this very, very slippery gravel, it's horrible. We need to get it home so where I can I'll push.

34. Fabio Andolfi (ITA) / Simone Scattolin (ITA) - Skoda Fabia R5
I'm enjoying this stage but I made a mistake on the roundabout but I'm happy.

81. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Darren Garrod (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
It's been amazing support all weekend. I live three minutes walk away from here.

44. Chris Ingram (GBR) / Ross Whittock (GBR) - Skoda Fabia R5
It's been the most difficult Rally GB. This rally either goes really well for us or terribly and it's been the worst event of the year but we're learning so much after that little off on Friday. It's just been so hard to get into the rhythm again. Disappointing but we'll be better next year.

43. Eric Camilli (FRA) / Benjamin Veillas (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R5
Six punctures this weekend. We are a bit dissapointed with that but now it's done and we have good times and can show the pace.

35. Ole Christian Veiby (NOR) / Stig Rune Skjaermoen (NOR) - Skoda Fabia R5
When it's dry we have a nice feeling but when it's slippy like today I have no feeling with the brakes so I'm struggling with that and when you have no feeling then you have no rhythm. It's quite fast in there but enjoyable.

41. Marco Bulacia Wilkinson (BOL) / Fabian Cretu (ARG) - Skoda Fabia R5
It's a really fun stage but very tricky. You can end your rally in here.

86. Alex Laffey (GBR) / Patrick Walsh (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
It felt fast!

85. Gaurav Gill (IND) / Glenn Macneall (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R5
This event had a really different stage surface, really different to what we are used to. So it's very challenging, very exciting and yesterday was a marathon day.

89. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
It's fun. We don't have the proper tyres for tarmac but nobody has. It's interesting.

87. Eamonn Boland (IRL) / Mj Morrissey (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R5
That's more like we have at home.

39. Nil Solans (ESP) / Marc Marti (ESP) - Ford Fiesta R5
Quite different. We enjoyed it.

91. Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (FRA) / Romain Courbon (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R2
Very good a nice stage. I love tarmac and with teh gravel tyre it's fun. It's quite hot.

92. Steve Rokland (NOR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
Just taking it so steady, no point to push.

64. Tom Williams (GBR) / Phil Hall (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Electrical problem. No boost, no anti-lag. Car doesn't want to come out of second gear.

62. Enrico Brazzoli (ITA) / Luca Beltrame (ITA) - Peugeot 208 R2
It's very good. We enjoy it. I catch up the car in front of me but it's good, I enjoy.

93. James Williams (GBR) / Tom Woodburn (GBR) - Opel Adam R2
That was awesome. Even though we've got problems it was so much fun to see the fans out there and the jump at the finish.

61. Taisko Lario (FIN) / Tatu Hatamalainen (FIN) - Peugeot 208 R2
I was expecting it to be more slippery with the gravel parts but the grip was good and I enjoyed that.

95. Tony Jardine (GBR) / Tom Cary (GBR) - Mitsubishi Evolution IX GT
We're fine, it's me. I was worried about the speed going into the jump and I backed off before the flying finish but it was great. It would be good to have slicks but I can't complain, it was great.

97. John Morrison (GBR) / Peter Carstairs (GBR) - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
It was good. It was hot and furious. We had to change a puncture at the start of it. It was good.

102. Spencer Wilkinson (GBR) / Glyn Thomas (GBR) - Subaru Impreza WRX STi
That was a bit different. The Group N car isn't good at doughnuts on tarmac. I've not got a plan.

104. Alex Waterman (GBR) / Harry Thomas (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2T
Very different. Strange to be back on tarmac but good fun. Just get to the finish.

101. Finlay Retson (GBR) / Tom Hynd (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
A good stage. First time I've been on a full tarmac stage on gravel setup so it was nice to have the car sliding about, loved it.

63. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was alright. We have a bit of a gearbox problem so trying to get to the finish. I must be braking too much.

100. Jordan Reynolds (GBR) / Peredur Davies (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Lots of slides, the tyres don't like it at all. Enjoyable. The jump is huge, I didn't expect it to be that big.

106. Saleh Hijazi (GBR) / Stephen Landen (GBR) - MG ZR
It was a nice stage. Fantastic, I really enjoyed it.

108. Jonathan Mulholland (GBR) / Jeff Case (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
It wasn't that bad. There was more grip than I thought there was. It would be a good stage with a tarmac car. It's like a faster Tor Head on the Ulster Rally

107. Nabila Tejpar (GBR) / Richard Bliss (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
Not bad.

109. Stephen Southall (GBR) / Richard Bestwick (GBR) - Ford Escort Mk2
A bit of fun. The jump is a bit rough at the end but it's OK. Broke the shaft last night but back in today.

96. Kevin Horgan (IRL) / Liam Fouhy (IRL) - Skoda Fabia R2
The jump was nasty enough but it was nice.

111. Neil Andrew (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
I'm not used to tarmac. It's good, enjoyable. I'll get used to it!

105. Bart Lang (GBR) / Sinclair Young (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
That's mega fun. I just put a bit of a show on. It's wicked fun. Brilliant fun.
