STAGE FLASH

Date:06/10/2018
Section:3
Special Stage:SS14 Dyfnant (8.3 km)

4. Andreas Mikkelsen (NOR) / Anders Jaeger (NOR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
It was very, very dry. Completely dry. I just hope there was no cleaning in there. I would say 95 percent dry. Not what we expected but it was OK.

10. Mads Ostberg (NOR) / Torstein Eriksen (NOR) - Citroen C3 WRC
It was a live TV stage so you need to make sure you have some sponsors and the car was quite dirty so I picked up some flags for the cameras. [Joking about the banners he had collected in the stage]

6. Hayden Paddon (NZL) / Sebastian Marshall (GBR) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
We were just missing a little grip. It's not so bad, it's so close and we're really enjoying the stages.

11. Craig Breen (IRL) / Scott Martin (GBR) - Citroen C3 WRC
I was nearly backwards in that last hairpin! I tried it with the R2 car a few years ago so I decided to try and do it again!

1. Sébastien Ogier (FRA) / Julien Ingrassia (FRA) - Ford Fiesta WRC
It's really, really close. Up to position five there is only ten seconds so we keep pushing.

9. Esapekka Lappi (FIN) / Janne Ferm (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
I tried. On the finish I had a lean on the bank, it was in the pacenotes. I should not have pulled the handbrake but I did and I shouldn't. I went wide but it is OK.

7. Jari-Matti Latvala (FIN) / Miikka Anttila (FIN) - Toyota Yaris WRC
It was a good run for us, it is interesting this stage - some places had good grip and others were very polished. The feeling in the car was very good.

5. Thierry Neuville (BEL) / Nicolas Gilsoul (BEL) - Hyundai i20 Coupé WRC
We continue pushing. We went with the medium tyre choice on the front axle this morning, we were surprised by the grip and went off. We won't give up.

8. Ott Tänak (EST) / Martin Järveoja (EST) - Toyota Yaris WRC
I have my job to do, and the other guys have their job to do. The afternoon is going to be hard, especially if these roads get more polished - it is going to be as slippy as hell

2. Elfyn Evans (GBR) / Daniel Barritt (GBR) - Ford Fiesta WRC
Obviously, yesterday was a good day in the morning and today has been difficult to be honest to find that spark again. Okay the driving is not that bad, but you need that edge to make the difference.

36. Kalle Rovanperä (FIN) / Jonne Halttunen (FIN) - Skoda Fabia R5
Of course it would be nice to win the rally, but it is still a long day today and tomorrow as well. This stage was really nice.

31. Pontus Tidemand (SWE) / Jonas Andersson (SWE) - Skoda Fabia R5
The pace is quite high I think, we are fighting with Gus Greensmith so we'll continue like this

32. Gus Greensmith (GBR) / Alex Gelsomino (USA) - Ford Fiesta R5
We had a spin two stages ago which opened up the gap, I think there was a miscommunication between which plan I was on, and what other people thought I was on.

84. Tom Cave (GBR) / James Morgan (GBR) - Hyundai i20 R5
We made a mistake on Dyfi and lost the rear, got stuck in a ditch. Some spectators pushed us out so thanks for them, now it's just about setting some good times really.

40. Stéphane Lefebvre (FRA) / Gabin Moreau (FRA) - Citroen C3 R5
It's a bit drier so it's not bad. I struggled a little bit for grip in some places as it is muddy but it's OK.

35. Ole Christian Veiby (NOR) / Stig Rune Skjaermoen (NOR) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was a nice one but still quite tricky. It was easy to do a mistake in there. It's getting better.

42. Simone Tempestini (ROU) / Itu Sergiu (ROU) - Citroen C3 R5
It was OK, it was a short one. We are ready for the next two.

44. Chris Ingram (GBR) / Ross Whittock (GBR) - Skoda Fabia R5
I'm trying to get back into it, it's been quite difficult to be honest. We're getting there.

41. Marco Bulacia Wilkinson (BOL) / Fabian Cretu (ARG) - Skoda Fabia R5
We are going very good, very difficult but we are enjoying.

81. Matt Edwards (GBR) / Darren Garrod (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
It's been good. Didn't carry as much speed as I wanted through some corners. It's a nice dry stage for a change.

37. Jari Huttunen (FIN) / Antti Linnaketo (FIN) - Hyundai i20 R5
It's quite a nice stage but I think we lost too much time.

43. Eric Camilli (FRA) / Benjamin Veillas (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R5
Rear left puncture - our sixth one.

38. Pierre-Louis Loubet (FRA) / Vincent Landais (FRA) - Hyundai i20 R5
It was completely dry, it was a good stage.

33. Lukasz Pieniazek (POL) / Przemyslaw Mazur (POL) - Skoda Fabia R5
It was nothing special for us, we're going to try and improve on the next stage. I struggled a bit this morning with the grip.

83. Rhys Yates (GBR) / Elliott Edmondson (GBR) - Skoda Fabia R5
It's really fast and flowing. It's big commitment just throwing it in to some of the corners. I'm enjoying. I'm really looking forward to the next loop.

85. Gaurav Gill (IND) / Glenn Macneall (AUS) - Ford Fiesta R5
It was slightly better for sure. I think the sun is helping us. There is more grip.

34. Fabio Andolfi (ITA) / Simone Scattolin (ITA) - Skoda Fabia R5
The stage was all day, the conditions are better than yesterday.

86. Alex Laffey (GBR) / Patrick Walsh (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R5
I really enjoyed that stage, it was quite nice and flowing.

89. Paulo Nobre (BRA) / Gabriel Morales (BRA) - Skoda Fabia R5
So far so good. We are driving and having a lot of fun. We are feeling confident. We are feeling so, so good.

87. Eamonn Boland (IRL) / Mj Morrissey (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R5
No problem.

64. Tom Williams (GBR) / Phil Hall (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
Very good, we can't be unhappy when we are leading. That stage was amazing, I think they should do that one again instead of the others. Really good.

93. James Williams (GBR) / Tom Woodburn (GBR) - Opel Adam R2
It was really enjoyable. Great to see so many fans in there. It's amazing for me to be driving through these stages.

92. Steve Rokland (NOR) / Dai Roberts (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
That was good. Quite a fast stage in places, I enjoy that. I guess the next one will be a bit rougher so we'll take that one more carefully.

62. Enrico Brazzoli (ITA) / Luca Beltrame (ITA) - Peugeot 208 R2
It's not a good stage. There is no speed but the time is OK. Second postion. It is important to finish the leg.

100. Jordan Reynolds (GBR) / Peredur Davies (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
We've got a bent rear beam. The car we were chasing in our class we passed in the stage, so we need to preserve the car now.

95. Tony Jardine (GBR) / Tom Cary (GBR) - Mitsubishi Evolution IX GT
It was gorgeous. Fast, flowing, spectacular. They have all been great today. Yesterday was tough with the tight stages. That was great although we've got a puncture to change apparently.

91. Jean-Baptiste Franceschi (FRA) / Romain Courbon (FRA) - Ford Fiesta R2
It was a nice stage, it's almost dry everywhere. Good stage, very fast.

63. Louise Cook (GBR) / Stefan Davis (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
We didn't get to recce that so all our notes from the video of Neuvilles in-car. There was a couple of dodgy notes in there. We hit a hay bale. We came around a corner and the distance was wrong, we thought we had 80 but it was about 40 then a hairpin. All OK though.

61. Taisko Lario (FIN) / Tatu Hatamalainen (FIN) - Peugeot 208 R2
It was good, there was a few muddy places but otherwise I am happy.

105. Bart Lang (GBR) / Sinclair Young (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2
We're running at about half power now. I used to rally a Micra and it's like being in that again. It's just about sending it flat everywhere now really. No surrender.

97. John Morrison (GBR) / Peter Carstairs (GBR) - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX
That was fine. It was OK. We've had a few punctures and caught a few cars.

108. Jonathan Mulholland (GBR) / Jeff Case (IRL) - Ford Fiesta R2
That was good. A nice stage, nice and flowing but I'm glad we only have to do it once. We're still here. I'm hoping the next cars won't be rough but we're giving it our best shot.

104. Alex Waterman (GBR) / Harry Thomas (GBR) - Ford Fiesta R2T
That was good. Slippy but it's finished off an excellent morning. The stages have been really nice. Looking forward to hopefully drier stages than this morning. Still enjoying ourselves.

102. Spencer Wilkinson (GBR) / Glyn Thomas (GBR) - Subaru Impreza WRX STi
We're enjoying it, it's a lot better than yesterday. We're smiling so I'm happy.

107. Nabila Tejpar (GBR) / Richard Bliss (GBR) - Peugeot 208 R2
Not a bad day, I enjoyed that. Shame it's only ran once. The two this morning were tricky, but hopefully they'll have dried out a bit now.

106. Saleh Hijazi (GBR) / Stephen Landen (GBR) - MG ZR
All good, it was nice.

111. Neil Andrew (GBR) / Dominic Adams (GBR) - Subaru Impreza
I caught the car in ffront so it slowed me down. Lost about five I'd say.

96. Kevin Horgan (IRL) / Liam Fouhy (IRL) - Skoda Fabia R2
We just hit the bank on the left corner. Getting up speed as we have no forestry experience.
